Detroit Social Media Startup Organizes Flash Mob to Celebrate Detroit Teams.

On Sunday, Nov. 20, Detroit sports fans dressed in Red Wings, Lions and Tigers gear, accompanied by the Detroit Pride Cheerleaders, rocked out to Kid Rock’s “Born Free”.

Go Social Detroit partnered with Made in Detroit to celebrate their official launch with a #DetroitFlashMob. The flash mob took place during the Lions tailgate in Detroit’s Eastern Market.

After the closing Detroit Pride dance routine, “Born Free” blared through the speakers and flash mobbers filled the shed to wow unsuspecting tailgaters with the spontaneous Detroit Team Spirit Flash Mob dance choreographed by Mallory Brown of World Clothes Line.

After an extremely successful turnout, Go Social Detroit plans to continue partnering with Detroit brands and creating touch points within the community that showcase Detroit in a positive light.

“We organize these events to get Detroiters excited about our city and about our brand,” said Krystal Penrose, a Go Social Detroit intern.

Go Social Detroit plans to invite Lion’s Detroit Sport Team players like Tony Scheffler to lead future flash mobs.
